Incident at Vicinity of JEBBY intersection along the QM/NY boundary (Weather - clear air turbulence (CAT)/turbulence)

Summary

2005-03-02: Several aircraft encountered severe turbulence in the vicinity of JEBBY intersection from 0020Z onward. After the initial reports were made known to other aircraft on the same track, most requested routing north of their original flight planned track to avoid the area of turbulence. A Sigmet (Delta 3 valid from 012340 to 010340) had been issued by New York weather services, but not forwarded to Moncton ACC. After inquiring with NY ARTCC and determining there was in fact a Sigmet for the area in question, a copy was then faxed to the Moncton ACC. Supervisor. TSB Case Closed
