Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Summary

2005-03-01: MRLN34 S61 in Fredericton (CYFC) was observed taxiing onto runway 33 without contact with Fredericton Flight Service. Attempted to contact on all available frequencies with no response. Flashed Runways lights multiple times with no response. MRLN34 departed runway 33 on a proposed IFR without clearance. Moncton Centre advised. MRLN34 contacted Moncton centre requesting clearance and was passed back to Fredericton Radio on 236.6. MRLN advised of radio problems and that there was an attempt to contact Flight Service with no response. Traffic in Training Area 2 passed and MRLN34 was switched over to Moncton Centre on 270.8. Weather VFR. Nil TSB
