Incident at 4300W

Summary

2005-01-28: The Lufthansa Airbus 340 (DLH435) was at FL 330 when the pilot advised of a medical emergency, 65 yr old male passenger with breathing and blood pressure problems possibly due to complications with diabetes. Pilot requested to return to St. John's. Clearance issued at 0738Z for a descent to FL320 and a course reversal to CYYT. At 0753Z the aircraft was enroute to CYYT when the pilot advised canceling the medical emergency, passenger condition had improved. The pilot now requested clearance to continue to EDDM. Due traffic the aircraft was first descended to F290 and then a new clearance was issued to EDDM. Once established Eastbound ATC was able climb clearance to aircraft requested level of FL370 prior to 030W.
