Incident at GANDER INTL NL (CYQX)

Summary

2005-02-14: TSB Update #A05A0003: BAW175, a British Airways Boeing 747, was en route from London to New York when the flight was required to return to London because of a passenger security concern. Gander ACC advised the crew that they were unable to issue the requested clearance due to traffic. The crew then carried out the North Atlantic contingency procedure and, once other traffic was redirected, Preswick ACC issued them a clearance to London.
2005-01-13: Update Safety and Security : Aircraft enroute from London Heathrow to New York turned around at 40W to return to Heathrow not due to a fuel problem , but due to a passenger on board who was on the U.S. No fly list .
2005-01-13: BAW175, B744, EGLL-KJFK, Reg. GBNLZ requested to turn around due fuel. ATC unable IFR clearance due traffic. Aircraft carried out contingence procedures and descended left of track. Aircraft remained left of track until traffic was moved and an IFR clearance could be issued by Preswick. Nil TSB .
