Incident at GOOSE BAY NL (CYYR)


2005-01-10: TSB Update A05A0002: The SAAB SF340A aircraft, registration C-FPAI, was en route from Deer Lake to Goose Bay. At approximately 25 NM south of Goose Bay the crew declared an emergency due to hydraulic failure. Goose Bay airport emergency services were alerted and after carrying out an emergency landing gear extension, the aircraft landed without further incident. Maintenance found that a ""banjo"" fitting on the landing gear had failed which resulted in a loss of main system hydraulic fluid and pressure.
2005-01-06: The Provincial Airlines SF34 (SPR927) was inbound from Deer Lake for landing at Goose Bay. At 2342Z, approximately 25NM south of Goose Bay (CYYR), the pilot declared an emergency with Goose Bay Tower due to a hydraulic failure. Airport emergency services alerted. Aircraft landed without further incident at 2349Z.
