Summary

2004-12-01: A04O0328: Aerospatiale AS-350D helicopter, registration C-GHAQ, operated by Four Seasons Aviation Ltd. as GLOBAL1, was approaching Toronto LBPIA (CYYZ) from the south after a local flight. The pilot requested a landing in the north field and was instructed to parallel the east side of runway 33R. Bombardier CL-600-2B19 aircraft, registration C-FRIB, operating as Air Canada flight ACA654, was preparing to depart 33R on a scheduled IFR flight from CYYZ to Saint John Airport (CYSJ). GLOBAL1 was instructed to follow runway 23 and to hold short of runway 33R. The pilot read back hold short of runway 33L and crossed runway 33R. ACA654 passed well behind GLOBAL1.

The pilot, requesting a landing in the north field, was instructed to parallel runway 33R. The Controller was about to depart ACA654 off runway 33R. GLOBAL1 was instructed to follow runway 23 and to hold short of runway 33R. The pilot read back hold short of runway 33L and crossed runway 33R. ACA654 passed well behind GLOBAL1.
