Incident at WATSON LAKE YT (CYQH)

Summary

2003-09-22: Watson Lake CARS informed Whitehorse (YXY) FSS that a small black helicopter 'buzzed' the radio building about 50 feet in the air without any radio contact. The CARS O/C attempted several times to contact the pilot of the helicopter, without success. Also, there was no contact with Whitehorse FSS on the RCO. YXY FSS obtained information from Tower that N60BK, a McDonnel Douglas 600N, departed YXY at 0015Z with a stated destination of Watson Lake. Watson Lake CARS did a ramp check and there was no sign of the helicopter. The pilot of N60BK did not file a flight plan with FSS in YXY and it is unknown whether he was on a company itinerary, so there may be a second infraction for failure to file a flight plan.
