Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)

Summary

2003-12-22: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that WIA has a comprehensive bird and wildlife program in place, which was in effect at the time of the occurrence.
2003-09-23: UPDATE TSB reported that WJA 109 a Boeing 737-200 aircraft, registration C-GWJG departed Runway 36 at the Winnipeg airport. During the initial climb, a seagull struck the Captain's windshield. The crew elected to return to Winnipeg where the aircraft landed safely. ARFF was put on stand-by. The aircraft was inspected and no damage was found. The aircraft was then returned to service.
2003-09-18: WJA 109, a B737-200 with 125 people on board, struck a bird on departure from Winnipeg International Airport. The crew decided to return to the airport, where it landed safely with ERS on standby. Damage to the a/c is not known. TSB will look into the incident.
