Incident at NORMAN WELLS NT (Water) (CEU8)

Summary

2003-09-17: C-GRDD, a DHC-6, departed the waterbase at Norman Wells on a VFR flight to Colville Lake and the crew did not contact the FSS on the Mandatory Frequency prior to takeoff. The crew did call FSS when clear of the zone, but did not respond to subsequent calls from FSS staff, who had observed the a/c departing. When later queried about the radio procedures, the crew said they had the wrong frequency.
