Incident at SASKATOON / JOHN G. DIEFENBAKER INTL SK (CYXE)
2003-12-22: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that the Airport Authority at Saskatoon has an ongoing wildlife management program which was in effect at the time of the occurrence. The bird remains located on the runway are believed to be that of a gull. There was no aircraft damage resulting from this event, after inspection the aircraft was returned to service.
2003-09-15: ACA 103, an A319, arrived at Saskatoon and the crew advised Tower that they hit a bird during roll-out. Airport staff inspected the runway and found bird debris. There was no reported damage to the a/c.
2003-12-24: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that the airport operator at Saskatoon reported that there had been an unusual amount of gull activity at the airport this fall. The Airport Authority reported that they used several times more bangers and screamers than in previous years. Their dispersal patrols, which occasionally involved two vehicles, were begun earlier to address the situation. They also noticed that a change of cropping on airport property has had a positive effect on reducing bird problem at the airport.
