Incident at CALGARY INTL AB (CYYC)

Summary

2003-09-15: C-GFMX, a Cessna 421, was VFR inbound to Calgary when the pilot advised the Calgary Terminal Controller that he had an engine failure and ERS was not required. C-GFMX landed without incident at 0004Z.
2003-09-17: UPDATE The company reported that the engine failure was caused by an internal problem that is not immediately apparent to our maintenance staff. There was evidence of metal in the oil filter and in the oil that was drained from the crank case. The engine has been removed and will be sent in for overhaul.
