Incident at FORT MCMURRAY AB (CYMM) (Public complaint, Alleged Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) infraction)
2003-09-11: A single engine, high wing, taildragger aircraft (similar to a Cessna 180) with blue and white markings made a very low pass estimated less at than 100 feet AGL over the Suncor mine operation 25 NM north of Fort McMurray. Blasting was in progress at the time and persons on the ground also observed the a/c having to swerve to avoid wires 100 feet AGL. They identified the aircraft as having a U.S. civil registration of N3708, but this registration is currently not assigned, according to the FAA. Fort McMurray FSS and Edmonton FIC attempted radio contact with the a/c on several frequencies, without success.
