Accident at RIMBEY AB (CFC7)

2003-09-04: The private pilot had landed his Maule 5-235C (C-GQJD) on an improvised grass strip at his farm near Rimbey, AB, and applied aggressive brake in order to stop short of a fence at the end of the field. The aircraft nosed over onto its back, sustaining substantial damage to the prop, wings and tail. The pilot, who was the sole occupant, was uninjured. Due to animals pastured on his normal strip, the pilot had improved an alternate field for the operation. A previous landing had been rejected due to excessive speed on the approach.
