Incident at CALGARY INTL AB (CYYC)
2003-09-02: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that during taxi out to Runway 34 and holding at bay 34, a the crew of a U.S. carrier reported seeing smoke coming from one of aircraft #750's engines. It is uncertain who called the fire trucks. Maintenance Control had a crew do a 'confidence run' - both flight deck and ground (fire dept.) reported all OK. No smoke present - only breather mist from both engines. The aircraft departed with no further incidents to report.
2003-08-29: WJA 901, a B737-200, taxied to position on Runway 34 at Calgary and two aircraft in the sequence reported what appeared to be smoke from it's left engine. WJA 901 taxied off the runway. CFR was called and responded. No operational impact. TSB reported that the a/c was returned to the gate, where maintenance examined it and could find no faults. It is suspected that the smoke was exhaust from an oil breather tube. The flight then departed without incident.
