Incident at WHITEHORSE/ ERIK NIELSEN INTL (CYXY)

Summary

2003-11-07: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that Whitehorse Airport has an ongoing bird and wildlife control program, which was in place at the time of this occurrence. The bird was identified as a Kestrel Red Tail Hawk.
2003-08-25: After landing on Runway 13R at Whitehorse, the crew of of ANT 306 advised the Tower there was a dead bird on the runway. JZA 8501, a BAe 146, had departed shortly before the landing of ANT 306, but had not reported a bird strike. JZA 8501 was advised of the finding and elected to continue to destination. Remains were removed and operations returned to normal. No impact on other traffic.
