Incident at LA RONGE (BARBER FIELD) SK (CYVC)
2003-08-27: UPDATE TSB reported that TW 300, a Beech 100 aircraft, registration C-GAPK was en route from Saskatoon to La Ronge. While in cruise, the left engine (P&W PT6A-28) torque and fuel flow indications dropped to zero and the engine lost all power. Activation of the fuel boost pump and an attempt to re-start the engine in flight failed. The crew declared an emergency and then landed safely in La Ronge. The operator advised that a fuel bladder patch from the left inboard 23 gallon fuel cell had delaminated and blocked the fuel flow to the left nacelle tank.
2003-08-22: TW 300, a Beech King Air 100, was en route from Saskatoon to La Ronge when the crew reported shutting down an engine approximately 14 minutes south of La Ronge. The pilot declared an emergency and all appropriate agencies were notified. The aircraft landed at La Ronge without further incident at 1555Z.
2003-09-04: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that the left inboard fuel cell had an INTERIOR patch by Hartwig in Winnipeg let go and block the outlet. If the pilots had gone to crossfeed they could have kept the engine running apparently. An SDR has been submitted.
