Incident at Fisher Bay

Summary

2003-08-08: The Wamair Service and Outfitting Inc float-equipped Cessna A185F, C-GWAB, was on final approach over the shoreline to Fisher Bay, MB. The propeller struck and severed a power line, which was not seen by the pilot. The aircraft landed safely and the two passengers left the aircraft as planned. After discussion with the company AMO the aircraft was ferried by the pilot to Matheson Island. The aircraft was examined by the company AMO and then ferried to Silver Falls, the company's maintenance base, for repair. The damage was considered minor. There had been no arcing when the line was cut. There were shallow gouges on the base of the propeller which are repairable and minor scuffing on the plastic wing tip.
