Accident at Tatlow Lake

Summary

2003-08-06: The Points North Air Services De Havilland DHC-2 Beaver was ferrying firefighters to Tatlow Lake, SK, on a flight from Isadore Lake. The pilot chose a landing area across the lake, in order to land into wind, and landed with takeoff flap, in accordance with company policy. On landing, the aircraft floated as a result of gusty wind conditions, and landed long. The aircraft ran up on shore and struck a number of large trees, sustaining substantial damage. No injuries were reported.
