Incident at WHITEHORSE/ ERIK NIELSEN INTL (CYXY)

Summary

2003-08-06: On departure from Whitehorse, the flaps on the Air North Boeing 737, registration C-FJLB, would not retract from flap 1 to flap 0. The alternate flap operation checklist was completed and the aircraft returned to Whitehorse without further incident. Maintenance examination determined that the flap indicator, which provides protection against flap asymmetry, was faulty. The flap indicator was replaced and the aircraft was returned to service.
