Incident at JASPER AB (CYJA)

Summary

2003-08-06: It was reported that a fixed wing aircraft, registration C-GXLL, was flying around the fire base 1.5 NM west of Jasper in a flight restricted (up to 19,000 feet) area. The area has been Notamed since 1 August 13:35 local time. Fire base personnel contacted the pilot, who said there was no NOTAM. The NOTAM office and Nav Canada confirmed that the Notam cam into in effect August 1st. This incident caused a near collision, since about 6 to 10 helicopters are working on a forest fire in the Jasper area.
