Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)

Summary

2003-07-30: WJA 109, a B737-200, was enroute from Regina to Winnipeg at FL 330 when the crew declared an emergency due to a fire warning indication in the APU. Winnipeg Emergency Services was activated and the aircraft landed safely in Winnipeg without further incident at 1308Z. No other aircraft were inconvenienced.
2003-08-06: UPDATE TSB reported that Westjet 109, a Boeing 737-200, was overhead Brandon at FL 330 en route to Winnipeg when the crew noted an APU fire warning. The crew completed the checklist, declared an emergency and continued to Winnipeg. The aircraft landed safety and stopped on the runway with AFF standing by. No indications of fire were noted and the aircraft taxied to the ramp. Maintenance did not find fire damage, and serviced the APU fire indication system.
