Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)
2003-07-18: The crew of PAG 946, a Metro II, rejected their takeoff on Runway 13 at Winnipeg due to a steering problem. The crew was able to exit the runway and taxi back to the apron without assistance. No other aircraft were inconvenienced. TSB reported that company maintenance has replaced the nosewheel steering computer for troubleshooting.
2003-07-22: TSB advised that the crew of Perimeter Airlines SA226-TC Metro aircraft, FTNV, reported that during the takeoff roll at around 50 knots, the aircraft swerved uncontrollably to the left. The crew aborted the takeoff and the aircraft came to rest on the runway, approximately 10 feet from the edge. The aircraft was taxied back to the ramp under its own power. Maintenance personnel inspected the aircraft as per instructions contained in TC030947-183. The nosewheel steering computer (control box)was removed for troubleshooting and a worn R/H nosewheel was replaced.
