2003-08-07: UPDATE TSB reported that the Saskatchewan Government Air Piper PA-31T was on a scheduled flight from Saskatoon to Regina with a pilot and five passengers on board. There an oil leak on the right engine and the pilot, prior to the approach and landing, conducted a precautionary shut down of that engine. The aircraft landed without incident. Company maintenance personnel inspected the engine and determined that an oil cooler line had been kinked during installation and subsequently failed. The failing oil line was enclosed within an asbestos fire sleeve and hidden from view. The line was replaced and the aircraft returned to service.
