Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)
2003-07-09: ACA 6034, an A320, was enroute from Calgary to Toronto and was overhead Winnipeg (YWG) when the crew advised ATC they wanted to divert into YWG with a hydraulic problem. AFF was activated. The crew indicated that the only impact might be loss of steering on the ground. Once the aircraft was on final the problem was resolved and it landed safely at 1947Z. No other aircraft were inconvenienced. TSB will contact the company.
2003-07-14: UPDATE TSB reported that Air Canada flight 6034, an Airbus A320-200 aircraft, registration C-FPWD was en route Calgary to Toronto. While in cruise over Winnipeg, the green hydraulic system failed and the crew elected to divert to Winnipeg. AFF responded and the aircraft landed without further incident. The operator advised that the right green aileron actuator and right green aileron servo-dump pump were replaced and the aircraft was then returned to service.
