Incident at RESOLUTE BAY NU (CYRB) (Aerodrome - runway or taxiway surface condition)

2003-07-07: KBA 292, a Beech King Air 200, landed on a runway at Resolute Bay airport that was under construction and not properly marked. Apparently, the construction crew had removed the cones that marked the area in question and had not replaced them. The crew had been informed of the construction before landing, but advised the CARS operator they did not see any markings to indicate the exact area. The a/c landed uneventfully.
2003-12-04: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that the landing was accomplished on Runway 17 and the crew was able to stop their aircraft prior to entering a soft area where construction had been ongoing. Day glow cones (markers) were positioned as a hazard alert to all users.
