Incident at PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE / SOUTHPORT MB (CYPG)

Summary

2003-07-07: Mustang 80, a Beech C90 King Air, was on a local training mission at Southport when the crew declared an emergency for an unsafe left main gear. The crew had previously completed a fly-by of the Tower and the landing gear appeared down. ERS was alerted. The aircraft landed safely at 1706Z. The landing gear was pinned and the aircraft taxied to the hangar. No operational impact.
2003-07-08: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that the company replaced the L/H main landing gear position switch, which rectified the problem.
