Incident at 7 NM NW of Stonewall

Summary

2003-07-03: The Ag-Flite Piper PA-25-235 Pawnee, C-GRNG, was approaching to land on a municipal road 7 NM northwest of Stonewall, MB, when the aircraft struck a farm service power line. The wirestrike broke off the cockpit wire-cutter and its tail protection wire, which became wrapped around the aircraft tail. The aircraft landed without further incident. No injuries were reported. The aircraft was landing toward the west and the setting sun obscured the pilot's view of the power line.
