Incident at CALGARY / SPRINGBANK AB (CYBW)

Summary

2003-07-07: UPDATE TSB reported that the Piper PA-24-250, registration C-FYFI, was in the circuit at Springbank, AB, airport when the engine (Lycoming 0-540) lost power. A forced landing was completed in the infield beside Runway 16. The pilot and 2 passengers were not injured, however, the aircraft sustained damage to the landing gear. The cause of the engine problem was not reported.
2003-06-30: C-FYFI, a PA-24 Comanche, was on right base leg for Runway 16 at Springbank when it lost engine power and the pilot landed in the infield. There were 3 people on board and no injuries were reported although the pilot reported damage to the aircraft. TSB to update.
