Accident at WAINWRIGHT AB (CYWV)

Summary

2003-06-26: The pilot of C-FVVT, a Champion 7GCBC, was turning final to a farm strip northeast of Wainwright and allowed the airspeed to get too low. The aircraft landed hard, resulting in serious injuries to the 2 occupants and substantial damage to the a/c, including the left wing, nose and the landing gear. One of the occupants has a broken ankle and the other has serious injuries to his teeth. They were reportedly wearing lap belts and did not have shoulder harnesses.
