Incident at WHITEHORSE/ ERIK NIELSEN INTL (CYXY)

Summary

2003-06-25: The crew of JZA 8505, a BAe 146, reported a bird strike on departure from Runway 13R at Whitehorse. They elected to continue to Vancouver. A runway check was completed and one bird found.
2003-07-04: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that company maintenance confirmed that the aircraft was not damaged when it came in contact with a bird on departure. The airport duty officer found a dead Robin on the runway and took it away. The Whitehorse Airport has an active wildlife program. Aerodrome Safety (AS) confirmed that the accepted standard is being maintained at Whitehorse and AS continues to monitor all bird and mammal events which occur at certified airports with a wildlife program.
