2003-06-24: C-GLHP, a Cessna 414, was on an IFR flight from Winnipeg to Prince Albert when the pilot descended from his cleared altitude of 8,000 feet to 6,000 feet without clearance or advising ATC despite being within radio coverage with Winnipeg FIC. When asked why he descended, the pilot explained it was 'to stay clear of cloud'.
