Incident at LA RONGE (BARBER FIELD) SK (CYVC) (Propeller/rotor strike, Collision on ground)

Summary

2003-06-20: The De Havilland DHC-3 Turbo Otter, C-FSGD was at the company dock at La Ronge, SK with its engine running, preparing to taxi for a flight to Teller Lake. As the pilot was preparing to release the propeller start locks, the engine was heard to surge twice. The surging engine produced enough power to pull the aircraft away from the dock, where it was being held by dock crew. The aircraft moved ahead and struck a company DHC-6 aircraft, C-FCCE. The Turbo Otter sustained damage to its propeller and wing. The DHC-6 sustained damage to its tail and fuselage. No injuries were reported.
