Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)

Summary

2003-06-18: PAG 205, a Metro II, taxied to position on Runway 31 at Winnipeg and was cleared for takeoff. The aircraft did not commence the takeoff roll and it was discovered that the aircraft had a locked brake. Airport duty management was advised and responded. The brake was freed and the aircraft taxied back to the apron. Two other flights were inconvenienced.
2003-06-19: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that the Quality Manager at Perimeter Aviation (which is the AMO for Perimeter Airlines) reports that the master brake cylinder had an internal failure, and that this particular model has been problematic in the past. An SDR will be submitted when the failed internal component is identified on teardown.
