Incident at THOMPSON MB (CYTH) (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)
2003-06-11: BRDG 3, a Cessna 310, departed Runway 05 at Thompson and shortly after, the pilot advised that he had a problem with a door and would return but needed no equipment. The aircraft landed at 01:51Z and the pilot advised that he had a flat tire. Runway 05/23 was closed for 30 minutes and a NOTAM was issued accordingly until the aircraft was able to be removed at 02:23Z. One other aircraft was diverted for landing on an alternate runway.
2003-06-20: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that the door warning light illuminated on during climb out and as the pilot returned to point of departure, excessive braking was used, causing a tire blow out. The tire was replaced and the aircraft returned to service.
2003-06-13: UPDATE TSB reported that the Cessna 310R, C-GDAT operated by Manitoba Government Air Services as flight BRDG 3, had just taken off from Runway 05 when the pilot observed that the baggage locker door on the right engine nacelle had opened. The aircraft was landed on runway 05 and heavy braking was applied. The right main gear tire locked up and blew out. The tire was replaced, the door was secured, and the aircraft was returned to service.
