Incident at LA RONGE (BARBER FIELD) SK (CYVC)
2003-06-12: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that apparenty both the gear up light bulb and the gear down light bulb had burnt out. The pilot changed the light bulbs with spares which are kept on board the aircraft, however when he installed them, the shutters on the housing were dimmed right out and it appeared that the lights were still not lit. This aircraft also suffered an alternator failure approximately 15 hours prior to this incident. The Director of Maintenance felt that the bulbs may have suffered some filament damage because of output spikes, which caused both bulbs to fail. The aircraft has since been operating without further problems.
2003-06-06: C-GIIA, a Cessna 172RG, was on approach at La Ronge when the pilot reported an unsafe gear condition.
