Incident at WHITEHORSE/ ERIK NIELSEN INTL (CYXY) (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)


2003-06-03: N5852X, a Cessna 310F, arrived at Whitehorse after a VFR flight from Northway, AK and while taxiing off Runway 13R, the right main gear collapsed. CFR responded and the disabled a/c was removed from the runway about 50 minutes later. One arrival was delayed about 25 minutes during the incident. The pilot was not injured.
2003-06-13: UPDATE TSB reported that the extent of the damage is minor and the occurrence is being considered an incident rather than an accident.
2003-06-04: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that this aircraft was flying on an FAA Special Ferry Flight Permit through Canadian airspace which was officially validated by this office and valid until June 15, 2003. The restriction on this flight permit was 'Nose landing gear and main landing gear must be secured in the down locked position.' This restriction was also referred to on Condition #2 of the standard T.C. Foreign Flight Validation. M. & M. has no further information at this time as to the actual reason for the collapse of the landing gear.
