Incident at BRANDON MUNI MB (CYBR) (Incursion - runway - pedestrian)

Summary

2003-06-02: The pilot of C-GXBO, a Cessna 172, was on approach to Runway 08 at Brandon when he reported that there was a person crossing the runway. He elected to conduct a missed approach. FSS observed the person just north of Runway 08 proceeding north east. City of Brandon Police were notified of the situation at 1449Z and they indicated that a car would be dispatched. The police arrived 26 minutes later at 1515Z, at which time the individual was gone. C-GXBO landed at 1527Z without futher incident.
2003-06-04: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that the airport manager will meet with the Brandon police service to determine if there is a way to improve on the response time for requests for assistance.
