Incident at IQALUIT NU (CYFB)

2003-05-29: MPE 438, a B737, was on approach to Runway 17 at Iqaluit after a flight from Rankin Inlet when the crew reported a problem with the flaps. They did not require assistance and did not declare an emergency. The flight landed uneventfully at 2152Z
2003-06-02: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that during this event, the circuit breaker was re-set without further fault. The indicator was replaced for troubleshooting in Ottawa later that night. Unfortunately, the snag returned the next day. However on this occasion, the right hand needle was fluctuating, thereby indicating a transmitter anomaly. It is believed that both events were actually caused by the right hand transmitter. The aircraft has been monitored for the past day with no further problems so far. Monitoring will continue at the weekly repeat company snag meeting.
