Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)
2003-05-27: CAV 7543, a HS 748, was departing Winnipeg for Churchill when the crew rejected the takeoff due an unspecified equipment problem. They taxied the a/c back to the apron. TSB will be contacting the company.
2003-05-29: UPDATE TSB reported that the Calm Air HS-748, C-GHSC, was departing Winnipeg on a scheduled flight to Churchill. The flight was on a takeoff roll on Runway 13 when the crew noted that the number two engine was indicating a lower-than-normal rpm. The takeoff was rejected at low speed and the aircraft returned to the ramp. Company maintenance personnel determined that the No. 2 rpm gauge had failed. The gauge was changed and the aircraft was returned to service.
