Incident at CUMBERLAND HOUSE SK (CJT4)

Summary

2003-05-27: The Canadair CL-215 aircraft, registration C-FAFN, was on its way to a drop zone to help suppress a forest fire in the vicinity of Cumberland House, SK. While en route, the right engine (P&W R2800) lost power and the propeller feathered. The pilot elected to fly clear of the community before he released his load. After releasing the load the engine was secured and the aircraft returned to the Hudson Bay tanker base were the aircraft landed safely. The operator advised that the FCU portion of the carburettor had failed.
