Incident at IQALUIT NU (CYFB)

Summary

2003-05-21: FAB 872, a B727, departed Iqaluit for Resolute Bay and shortly after takeoff, the crew advised they would be returning due to a failed instrument. The crew dumped fuel from 35 NM north of the airport for about 40 NM to the west before returning and landing at Iqaluit. Maintenance is replacing a failed standby artificial horizon.
