Incident at FORT SMITH NT (CYSM) (Alleged Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) infraction)

Summary

2003-12-02: Aerodrome Safety advised that they have contacted by telephone the company, Big River Air, the Airport Manager at Fort Smith along with Jim Windsor with the GNWT Airports Group in an attempt to get the East/West portion of Taxiway Charlie in front of the hangers changed to an apron. This would virtually eliminate these unnecessary and time consuming events. To date this office still awaits word from the Group at GNWT regarding the proposal.
2003-05-15: Both C-GJRO and C-GTWE, Cessna 172's, proceeded onto Taxiway Charlie at Fort Simpson airport without informing the CARS operator of their intentions. The same occurrence happened yesterday and the flying club personnel were informed of proper procedures but apparently the message was not relayed to all of their people.
