Incident at LA RONGE (BARBER FIELD) SK (CYVC)

Summary

2003-12-01: Aerodrome Safety advised that the Saskatchewan Government Northern Air Operations engineer taxied the aircraft at La Ronge to the Tanker Base (North side) of the field from the Air Ops Hangar (South side) of the field without contacting FSS. The Operations Manager, the Safety Officer and the head of Maintenance for Northern Air Ops met and decided to have a one day recurrent training course for all engineers, and pilot who hold an AVOP (Airside Vehicle Operators Permit) certificate. The individual involved in this event lost his AVOP privileges until a rewrite of the VOP is completed. Safety was not compromised nor was any ground or air traffic at risk.
2003-05-12: TKR 214, a CL-215 water bomber, was observed taxiing across Runway 10/28 at La Ronge without contacing FSS and making no broadcast on the MF. The a/c taxied from Apron 1 on Taxiway B to the tanker base on Apron 3. There was no conflicting traffic at the time.
