Incident at EDMONTON CITY CENTRE / BLATCHFORD AB (CYXD)
2003-05-13: The company reported that the flight crew inadvertently moved the landing gear relief valve located on the cockpit floor. The subsequent loss of pressure caused the gear to indicate that it was not locked in the 'up' position when the gear was selected 'up'. After landing, the relief valve was re-positioned, the pressure re-established in the gear system and the a/c was returned to service.
2003-05-06: CNS 600, a Metro III, took off from City Centre Airport for a flight to Calgary and shortly after, the crew reported that the landing gear would not retract. The flight returned and landed uneventfully. The cause of the gear problem is not known.
2003-05-14: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that after takeoff the crew reported the landing gear hydralic system warning light would not extinguish, indicating the landing gear was in transition and probably not locked in the 'up' position. The crew returned to YXD and landed without further incident. Maintenance conducted landing gear retraction/extension functional checks, and found the hydraulic emergency hand pump handle/selector valve was not stowed correctly. This caused a by-pass condition of hydraulic pressure, which caused the landing gear retraction malfunction. The handle was secured and the aircraft was returned to service.
