Incident at IQALUIT NU (CYFB)

2003-05-06: BFF 202, a Beech King Air, departed Iqaluit for Pangnirtung and shortly after takeoff, the crew advised FSS that they were returning due to a bleed air problem. The flight landed safely at 0334Z.
2003-05-08: Update Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that shortly after departure from Pangnirtung, the flight crew had a 'R/H Bleed Air Fail' warning. The R/H bleed air was turned off and the aircraft returned for maintenance evaluation. Maintenance discovered a pinhole in the R/H bleed air sense line in the R/H mid cabin area, there were no indications of a bleed air system leak or over temp. The bleed air sense line was replaced with new at import, about one month ago. The aircraft remains grounded for further maintenance evaluation. At this time the defect in the sense line appears to have been initiated at either line production or installation as no defects have been found in the aircraft systems which would have caused this type of failure of the bleed air sense line.
