Incident at EDMONTON INTL AB (CYEG)

Summary

2003-04-30: During descent of Air Canada Airbus A320, C-FDST, operating as ACA 143, the crew received a stabilizer jam indication on the Electronic Centralized Aircraft Monitoring (ECAM) system, accompanied by a loss of auto pitch control. The crew completed the QRH and used manual pitch trim to land at destination, Edmonton International (CYEG) without further incident. No emergency was declared and the aircraft did not require priority handling by ATC. Maintenance replaced the Trimmable Horizontal Stabilizer actuator assembly and a satisfactory function check was carried out as per AMM task 27-41-00-730-001.
