Incident at 73 NM NW of Nashville, TN


2003-04-29: While C-GBKB, a Morningstar Leasing Ltd Canadair CL600 operating as MAL 600 was en route from Edmonton City Centre to Palm Beach International, the number two engine chip detector light came on. The crew shut down the engine and diverted to Nashville International (KBNA) where they landed without further incident. Initial inspection revealed metal on the chip detector and in the oil filter from a failed oil pump. The engine, Avco Lycoming ALF-502L-2C, SN LF03094S was removed from the aircraft for repair by the manufacturer.
