Incident at EDMONTON / ST. ALBERT (DELTA HELICOPTERS) AB (Heli) (CES3)

Summary

2003-04-25: Edmonton ACC was advised by multiple high fliers of an active ELT signal in the Edmonton area. SARSAT also formed a case in Edmonton and an extensive search was begun. CASARA was tasked and launched an a/c to home the signal, which was subsequently determined to come from C-GTIS, a parked Bell 206 at the St. Albert airport. The CASARA a/c flew 2 hours during the search. It was reported that the ELT had been left in the 'on' position after maintenance.
