Incident at WAINWRIGHT AB (CYWV)

Summary

2003-04-24: REDOG 51, a CF-18 Hornet, exited the Wainwright ALTRV at 2240Z with the pilot declaring an emergency because of engine difficulties. The a/c was climbing without clearance through 17,000 feet ASL. The pilot of REDOG 51 requested FL 250 direct to CFB Cold Lake. Cold Lake MTCA was advised and REDOG 51 landed without further incident at 2309z. No operational impact .
