Incident at FORT MCMURRAY AB (CYMM) (Aerodrome - power failure, Aerodrome - other, ATM - other)

Summary

2003-04-28: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that all systems at the Fort McMurray airport are operating normally.
2003-04-24: At 1400Z, the Fort McMurray Airport operator conducted a monthly test of the field emergency power unit (EPU). At approximately 1510Z, the field EPU was stopped and the resultant 'power bump' knocked off the 118.1 and 121.9 VHF receiver ILS, and glide path. C-GZZD, a Cessna 206, was inbound at the time and both the FSS and the pilot thought that the aircraft's radio had failed. The aircraft was sighted by FSS downiwnd left for Runway 07. C-GZZD landed without incident and there was no vehicle traffic at the time. At 1523Z, after C-GZZD identified that the aircraft's radios were serviceable the problem was identified. A blown breaker at the field EPU was re-set.
